Which Starbucks Decaf Drinks you can order
I decided to look at all Starbucks decaf drinks in my topic for today.
For one reason or another, we want to taste coffee but run away from the caffeine in it. The causes can be anything from pregnancy to caffeine overdose and sleep problems.
Some of my friends only drink coffee in the morning. If they drink a cup of coffee in the afternoon, they have trouble falling asleep.
You will notice that almost every drink in Starbucks can be decaffeinated. Which means you have a wide selection of drinks.
Let’s start.

Starbucks Decaf Drinks
First I want to mention something important.
“Decaf” coffee does not mean caffeine-free. This drinks can still have caffeine content, but it is much less than a normal coffee.
Decaf Starbucks drinks are certainly less than the caffeine options.
But, we are lucky. Starbucks has a proper variety of decaf beverages available on its menu.
This means that you can have a wonderful Starbucks beverage with caffeine content and without.
But if you are looking for Caffeine-Free Starbucks Drinks, you have a lot of options as well.
Here are decaf options that you can have in Starbucks.
ESPRESSO DRINKS
Every Starbucks drink made from espresso can be made with decaf coffee beans. This means that if you like latte, americano, mocha, cappuccino, flat white, macchiato, or just want to order clean coffee, all this can be made Decaf.
As I mentioned earlier, Decaf’s coffee does not mean that the drink is caffeine-free. Note that a small amount of caffeine remains in the coffee beans during the Decaffeination process.
When you visit Starbucks, you can see that they have two espresso machines – regular coffee and Decaf. The Decaf is the so-called Decaf Espresso Roast.
FRESHLY BREWED COFFEE
When you visit Starbucks, freshly made coffee is always available on tap.
But do not worry. Except that there are different brewed coffees at any time, they are never old. Thankfully, the barista often prepares new batches.
The type of coffee available depends on where Starbucks is located and customers’ preferences.
There are places where you can get decaf brewed coffee right away. In contrast, there are also places where you may have to wait if you have time. The barista will offer you other decaf options if you do not have time to wait. There are plenty of alternatives.
For example, you can always order decaf espresso or decaf Americano. This drink can be an excellent alternative to a cup of made coffee because it’s just espresso combined with hot water.
Of course, if you’re in a location that has a Clover Brewing machine, they’ll easily make decaf in a cup.
Otherwise, you can get a decaf pour-over.
POUR-OVER COFFEE
I guess you’ve come across similar photos, videos or will see them live. If you are not, this technique is extremely easy to make coffee and takes about 4 minutes.
The preparation technique is very easy. It is just manually brewing a hot cup or a few cups of coffee. There is a filter on which the coffee grid is placed. After that, hot water is poured over it in a circular motion. The coffee drops flow directly into the cup or type of pot.
You can find different equipment for making this type of coffee. Some of the famous names are Chemex, Hario Switch, V60, and others.
CLOVER BREWED COFFEE
In one of my articles, I have mentioned that the Clover Machine is not available in every Starbucks. It is very expensive, and you can find this type of coffee in limited locations.
The Clover can prepare a single cup of coffee. The coffee you will receive is favorite for many people.
Unfortunately, Starbucks start to eliminate these machines. The reasons can be a few. A cup of Clover Brewed coffee cost more in comparison with Espresso. You can rarely find this Clover Machine in Starbucks. The machine is expensive. Can you think of another reason?
In this Clover Machine, the barista can prepare for you 3 types of coffee:
- Espresso Roast
- Sumatra
- Pike Place
And of course, if coffee is served hot in Starbucks, you can order and its Iced Option. Most of the coffees in Starbucks have their opposite alternative.
To summarize, these are the three main options by which you can get decaf coffee at Starbucks.
In the following lines, I will present you with complete lists of hot and cold versions of all Starbucks Decaf Drinks.
Decaf Iced and Hot Coffee at Starbucks
Remember that there is a difference between decaffeinated coffee and caffeine-free drinks (0mg).
Decaffeinated coffee is made from two main methods – Swiss Water and Organic Chemical Solvents. In both methods, a small amount of caffeine remains in the coffee. The whole process manages to extract about 97% of caffeine.
Because of the large cup sizes in Starbucks, the caffeine content for Decaf coffee can vary between 15 and 30mg:
- Short Cup Size – 15mg (caffeine)
- Tall Cup Size – 20mg (caffeine)
- Venti Cup Size – 25mg (caffeine)
- Grande Cup Size – 30mg (caffeine)
Each one of the following Iced and Hot Starbucks Drinks can be prepared with Decaf Coffee. This will decrease the caffeine content in them.

Decaf Pike Place – Roast, Ground
Type: Decaf Coffee, Ground
Taste: Chocolate and Toasted Nut
Origin: Blend of Latin America
Ingredients: 100% Arabica Coffee
Some of the comments for this decaf coffee:
This is the “only” decaf coffee where there’s not that true “something is missing taste” going on. You can’t tell it’s a decf. Most decaf coffee’s I’ve had are weak… not this one. It’s bold and it has flavor. Just because something is removed doesn’t mean you have to skimp on the taste. I have turned all of my decaf coffee drinking friends onto Pike’s Place. Way to go Startbucks!! I drink Decaf Pike Place everywhere I go, on vacation, at home, in the office. I LOVE IT!

The best cup of decaf coffee anywhere and especially when brewed at home. You cannot tell this is decaf. I only wish you would make more types decaf. Love Starbucks!!
Blackat
Pike Place Roast decaf has a nice, smooth finish and tastes delightful. Great in the morning or anytime, really, since it is decaf. Cream, creamer or milk with sweetener brings out its rich flavor and gives it a creamy smoothness. I highly recommend this decaf brew. Ahhhhhhhhh…

Some of the comments for this decaf coffee:
Love it. Tastes almost as good as caffeinated and pairs well with most creamers and sweeteners. This fulfills my sweet tooth and my need for a cozy cup at the same time. It’s my must have coffee.

We use this all the time at home. Seems so hard to find a decaf dark roast. Most are light or medium at best. Just because I do not want caffeine does not mean I do not want flavor. I do wish the decaf version was available in K-cups so I could have it at work too.

It seems that most of the people are looking not only for Starbucks Ground Decad Coffe but also for Whole Bean. Also, K-cups are becoming more and more popular. If you go throughout the comment you will see that a lot of comments are for K-cups alternative.
You can find Decaf Caffè Verona in their Starbucks Amazon store as well.
Decaf House Blend, Ground
Type: Decaf Coffee, Ground
Taste: Cocoa and Toffee
Roast: Medium Roast
Origin: Latin America
Ingredients: 100% Arabica Coffee
Some of the comments for this decaf coffee:
A while back I was told to limit my intake of cafine. Now to a coffee lover that is like hearing the world is ending in 3 nano seconds. I tried quite a few decaf whole bean coffees but they just never had a full bodied flavor and some tasted worse than dishwater. I was on a conference in San Francisco and the hotel was serving Starbucks House Blend Decaf so I thought I would give it a try. I thought at first they had given me the wrong coffee because the flavor was so rich and full, but no, it was the decaf. To say the least I have been hooked ever since. When I serve it to my friends I do not tell them right away that it is decaf and they are suprised when I do. They can not tell the difference. I just wish it was still available in the store and not just online. Love this stuff and will not drink any thng else.

Long time ago, I wandered into a Starbucks with a friend. He ordered the House decaf. I questioned that. He told me to try it. I have been stuck on it ever since. I have had it all over the world. The taste is just right – not too bold, nor too weak.

Decaf House Blend, K-Cup® Pods
Type: Decaf Coffee, K-cup
Taste: Cocoa and Toffee
Roast: Medium Roast
Origin: Latin America
Ingredients: 100% Arabica Coffee
Some of the comments for this decaf coffee:
The House Blend Decaf K-cups make great, non-bitter, coffee that is strong enough to mix in other liquids (I use cashew milk) when the 6-oz setting is used. I do wonder why they do not smell like coffee. When I remove my cup from the machine, I always get a whiff of unpleasant odor. Another reviewer said the odor smells like skunk to him/her. To me, it is the same type of odor as skunk (acrid) but doesn’t really smell like skunk. Once I put in my fixers, I don’t smell the stink anymore. The lack of good coffee smell doesn’t reduce the great taste I get.

F.A.Q. for Starbucks Decaf Drinks
Is decaf coffee acidic?
Decaf Coffee is Acid, but it has less Acid that the regular coffee.
This is because of the process of caffeine extraction. In this process, a decrease in phenolic acid levels is observed. But note that low brew coffee acid levels result in low antioxidants levels.
