List of the strongest coffees at Starbucks

Before I start looking at each coffee from the list, I want to draw your attention to something extremely important.

According to the FDA, a healthy person should not exceed the consumption of more than 400mg of caffeine

With that being said, I will start with the reviews of some of the strongest coffee drinks at Starbucks.

Note that some of those are healthy Starbucks Drinks, and you can order them while you are on a diet.

Blonde Roast

As I mentioned above, the Blonde Roast is the strongest coffee at Starbucks. In a Venti Cup, there is 475 mg of caffeine.

The Blonde Roast is a blended brewed coffee with beans from Latin America and East Africa.

In the Starbucks language, “blonde” is equal to “lighter in flavor than dark”. What about the taste?

The lightly roasted coffee beans give a soft and aromatic taste.

I analyzed a variety of opinions about this blend.

Most people are satisfied with the taste and aroma, but some of them disagree. Their common point of view is that coffee is too light and watery in taste.

Of course, to improve the taste you can always add milk, cream, or some favorite flavor.

But nevertheless, the caffeine inside the Blond Roast is strong enough to keep you awake.

Pike Place Roast

The Pike Place Roast is the second strongest coffee in Starbucks. In a Venti Cup, there is 410 mg of caffeine.

About its origin, it is a well-rounded blend of Latin American coffees.

The beans are lightly roasted with toasted nuts and chocolate notes, which deliver a smooth and rich flavorful taste.

It appears that the fans of the original smooth and balanced taste are disappointed with this flavor profile blend and prefer the classic.

Honey Almondmilk Nitro Cold Brew / The Starbucks Reserve® Nitro Cold Brew / Nitro Cold Brew

Even though this list is developed by comparing the caffeine content in a Venti cup, I can not close my eyes to these beverages.

The Honey Almondmilk Nitro Cold Brew has 290 mg of caffeine in a Grande cup.

The Starbucks Reserve® Nitro Cold Brew and Nitro Cold Brew has 280 mg of caffeine in a Grande cup.

I put them in third place because the caffeine content in a Grande cup is more than the rest of the Grande cup coffees on the list.

Those Cold Brew beverages are very strong, and they definitely will wake you up in the hot mornings.

Featured Starbucks Dark Roast Coffee

On the list, I have another hot, very strong coffee. With 340mg caffeine in a Venti Cup, the Featured Starbucks Dark Roast Coffee is the fifth strongest coffee. The coffee beans are blended all coming from Latin America.

This coffee offers bold, robust, but at the same time balanced aromas.

Its taste is bitter with less acidity. How does that sound to you?

This Dark roast coffee will be a great choice for starting your morning.

Iced Shaken Espresso

In sixth place are 3 drinks:

  • Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso
  • Iced Chocolate Almond Milk Shaken Espresso
  • Iced Shaken Espresso

All the Iced Shaken Espresso Starbucks drinks have the same amount of caffeine. The tall Cup is 170mg, Grande Cup 255 mg, and Venti Cup 340mg.

Iced Brown Sugar OatMilk Shaken Espresso

The Iced Brown Shaken Espresso is prepared with a blend of Starbucks Blonde Espresso, Brown Sugar Syrup, and Cinnamon. When this mix is ready, it is put in a glass with ice and topped with Oatmilk.

The calories for a Venti Cup are 170.

Iced Chocolate Almondmilk Shaken Espresso

The Iced Chocolate Almondmilk Shaken Espresso is prepared in two steps. The first step is to blend Brewed Espresso and Chocolate Malt Powder. After that, this delicious mix is put in a cup and topped with ice and Almondmilk.

The calories for a Venti Cup are 150.

Iced Shaken Espresso

This refreshing drink is made by shaking Brewed Espresso and Classic Syrup. After that, in the mix, ice and milk are added. All this creates a sweet and soft, delightful strong coffee.

Because of the milk and the syrup, this beverage has 160 calories in a Venti Cup.

Cold Brews

First, I want to say a few words about this Cold Brew technology.

The coffee is prepared in small batches from a custom blend of beans, which are dipped in cold water for 20 hours. No heat is involved in the making.

As you can see Starbucks Cold Brew Coffee is made with passion and forbearance.

Let’s continue.

In sixth place, I have a list of 3 strong Starbucks coffees:

  • Honey Almondmilk Cold Brew
  • Starbucks® Cold Brew Coffee
  • Starbucks® Cold Brew Coffee with Milk

All three of them have the same amount of caffeine. The tall Cup is 155mg, the Grande Cup 205 mg, and Venti Cup 310mg, and in Trenta Cup is 360mg.

Honey Almondmilk Cold Brew

The Honey Almondmilk Cold Brew is prepared with Brewed Coffee and sweetened Honey Blend. After that, it is topped with almond milk for a balanced taste and ice.

The calories in this coffee are 80 in a Venti cup.

Starbucks® Cold Brew Coffee

If you prefer clean cold coffee, then Starbucks Cold Brew Coffee is a great choice. It has very important ingredients Cold Brewed Coffee and Ice.

The great news is that this coffee is still with a lot of caffeine and has only 5 calories.

Starbucks® Cold Brew Coffee with Milk

This is Starbucks Cold Brew Coffee but topped with Milk.

The taste is smoother but with 60 calories in a Venti Cup.

Caffè Americano, Cold Brew Coffee, Flat White

In the sixth place, I have a list of four strong coffees:

  • Caffè Americano
  • Iced Caffè Americano
  • Iced Honey Almondmilk Flat White
  • Starbucks Reserve® Cold Brew

A Venti Cup, they have 300mg of caffeine.

Caffè Americano

Very easy to prepare but still wonderful with each sip. Caffe Americano is made with Espresso shots which are topped with hot water.

Iced Caffè Americano

The cold variation of Caffe Americano is the Iced Caffè Americano. It is made with Espresso shots which are topped with cold water. Before serving, the Barista adds ice cubes to the cup.

Iced Honey Almondmilk Flat White

This Iced Flat White is made with Starbucks Blonde Espresso Roast blend with almond milk. In the end, it is poured over ice and topped with Honey Blend. Extremely irresistible, cool, creamy, and delightful drink.

Starbucks Reserve® Cold Brew

Cold Brew coffee poured over ice. That is it. Simple and easy, but still incredibly refreshing in taste.

Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew / Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew / Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew

This is another set of Cold Brew Coffees.

Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew

A Cold Brew Coffee sweetened with Vanilla Syrup. Then it is poured over ice and topped with Pumpkin Spice and Pumpkin Cold Foam.

In a Venti Cup, it has 275 mg of caffeine and 310 calories.

As you can see, it is a very delicious seasonal drink but be careful with the calories.

Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew

Another Cold Brew Coffee sweetened with Vanilla Syrup. Then it is poured over ice and topped with Salted Caramel Cream.

In a Venti Cup, it has 275 mg of caffeine and 270 calories.

Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew

As you can already imagine, this Cold Brew Coffee is sweetened with Vanilla Syrup. Then it is poured over ice and topped with house-made Vanilla Sweet Cream.

In a Venti Cup, it has 275 mg of caffeine and 200 calories.

In this list, the Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew offers fewer calories than the other two coffee drinks.

I am not a big fan of caramel and pumpkin flavors, but I love vanilla.

When you see this drink, there is simply no way you can resist it.

Iced Caffè Mocha

Let’s face it. There are a lot of strong coffees in Starbucks with high caffeine content. But some of them are high in calories.

I am sorry, but I drastically limit the excess calories on my menu. No matter how good this drink looks and how tempting it attracts with its Whipped Cream topping, I won’t try it.

So, the caffeine content is 265mg for a Venti cup. So far, so good. But the amount of calories is 450.

The Iced Caffè Mocha is prepared by blending Brewed Espresso, Mocha Sauce, Milk, and Ice. After that, it is topped with this sweet whipped cream. Cheers to those who are not afraid of the calories.

Starbucks Reserve

In this position I have listed a few drinks:

  • Starbucks Reserve® Latte
  • Starbucks Reserve® Dark Chocolate Mocha
  • Starbucks Reserve® Iced Latte
  • Starbucks Reserve® Iced Dark Chocolate Mocha

Each one of them contains 265 mg of caffeine.

Starbucks Reserve® Latte

In a Venti cup of 20 fl oz, there are 4 Starbucks Reserve® espresso shots and steamed milk with an amount of 290 calories.

Starbucks Reserve® Dark Chocolate Mocha

The other hot, most energetic coffee is Starbucks Reserve® Dark Chocolate Mocha. The preparation is as follows. 4 Starbucks Reserve® espresso shots blended with ground chocolate, and cocoa, and topped with steamed milk. Sounds delicious, right?

Be careful with its calories. In a Venti Cup, there is an amount of 400 calories.

Starbucks Reserve® Iced Latte

This beverage is the same as its hot version – Starbucks Reserve® Latte. Here the milk is not steamed and is served over ice.

The amount of calories is 380.

Starbucks Reserve® Iced Dark Chocolate Mocha

Like its hot version, the Iced Dark Chocolate Mocha is prepared with 4 Starbucks Reserve® espresso shots. Then it is mixed with ground chocolate and cocoa, topped with cold milk, and served with ice.

In a Venti Cup, there is an amount of 380 calories.

F.A.Q. about the strongest Coffee at Starbucks

Which Starbucks Refresher has the most caffeine?

All refreshers have equal caffeine content. Depending on the cup sizes, it is:

  • Tall Cup – 35mg
  • Grande – 45mg
  • Venti – 70mg
  • Trenta – 90mg

As you can see, the bigger the cup size, the more caffeine inside it. If you want to freshen up and are not afraid of the caffeine content in the drink, you can safely order the Trenta cup-size Starbucks Refresher.

The barista will prepare those drinks in front of you.

If you do not have time to waste and wait, then you could order another Refresher. Different Refresher. I am talking about the Starbucks Refreshers™ Blueberry Acai. You can purchase it only in a ken. The caffeine content is 50mg for 12 fl oz (equal size to the Tall Cup).

So, if we have to compare the Starbucks Refresher by the caffeine content in a Tall cup, well, then the most caffeinated Refresher is the Starbucks Refreshers™ Blueberry Acai.

Is Espresso stronger than coffee?

The answer is a little complicated.

Suppose you drink only 1 ounce (around 30ml) of coffee. Then the Espresso shot is stronger than the regular coffee. In 1 ounce, it contains 63 mg of caffeine (according to the USDA). In comparison, regular coffee contains around 16mg.

But what if you drink more than 1 ounce? The more ounces you drink the regular coffee, the stronger it will get.

What Is The Best Drink at Starbucks to wake you up?

If we follow the example of Italians, then a quick shot of Espresso will wake you up much quicker.

In one Espresso shot, you have between 60 and 100mg (1 or 1.5 Ounces).

You can always order a filter coffee with a much bigger caffeine content, but the cup size will be much….much bigger. I suspect that the feeling will not be delightful to swallow 12 or 20 Ounces at once.

What Is The Best Starbucks Drink To Keep You Awake?

If you start the day with Espresso Shot to wake you up, you could continue your day with filter coffee. The filter coffee in Starbucks has the most caffeine content in it.

You can drink it longer, which means its effect will last longer.

If you are not sure what coffee to order to keep you awake, check out my list with the strongest coffee at Starbucks.

What Starbucks drink has the least caffeine?

So, the least caffeinated drink in Starbucks is the Decaf Pike Place® Roast. It contains 15 mg of caffeine in a short cup, 20mg in a Tall cup, 25mg in a Grande cup, and 30mg in a Venti Cup.

In addition, there are 3 Clover Brewed coffees that you could order:

  • Iced Clover Brewed® Decaf Espresso Roast
  • Iced Clover Brewed® Decaf Pike Place® Roast
  • Iced Decaf Sumatra Clover®

Their caffeine content is as follow:

  • Tall cup (12 fl oz) – 20mg
  • Grande Cup (16 fl oz) – 25mg
  • Venti Cup (24 fl oz) – 30mg

FINAL WORDS

As I told you at the beginning, all the data is taken from the Starbucks website. I have reviewed each coffee to select the ones that have the highest caffeine content.

You have a wide variety of drinks to start your day. As you can see, the list contains more than 23 Starbucks coffees. In some places, I decided to combine those that have the same amount of caffeine.

I hope this was useful to you.

I will be happy to let me know your favorite coffee from the list.
